Between January 20 and January 21, the first face-to-face work meeting was held in Valdivia, with the attendance of the entire THEMS Research and Work Team involved in the project. The day began on January 20 with a simulation workshop in specialized software Amesim of the project partner Siemens SAS, regarding the modeling of propulsive efficiencies of ships and their propulsion systems, and their integration with electric traction systems. This Workshop was held in hybrid mode and was dictated from France by Valerian Simonin, Marine Application Specialist. In the afternoon a field visit was made to the Marine Machinery Laboratory facilities, where it was possible to define the requirements for the location of the equipment and generator set, the electrical power conduits to be installed, the requirements for the distribution boards and the conduits for the measurement and communications systems. On January 21, 2001, workshops were held to update and plan the next milestones of the project, channeling and defining deadlines and corroborating future processes and activities.
